BILL ACCEPTOR UPGRADE KITS-

    Many change machines in recent years have been built to accept more than one type of bill acceptor.  Other machines can easily be modified to use bill acceptors that the original manufacturer did not offer.  The reasons for wanting to change the bill acceptor vary.  You may be totally frustrated and fed-up with the performance of what you currently have.  You may be getting "strung" with your current unit, and want a new acceptor offering more security.  Maybe you've got an acceptor for which the manufacturer is not offering upgrades for the new currency coming out soon.  ALL OF THESE are perfectly valid reasons for changing acceptors.

OVERVIEW NOTES-

Rowe: CBA2, CBA4, RBA7, OBA2, OBA4, BA20, BA35 - There will be no further software upgrades for these units.  Will not accept new bills (or current bills). 

Coinco: BA30/32 series, BA50/52 series, MAG50/52 series - These units are upgradeable; but have been highly vulnerable to "stringing".

Mars AE2400/2600 series: Currently considered by many as the best security choice.  We can  service most problems at this time. 

Pyramid 5400 series: "new kid on the block". Security similar to Mars, less expensive. 

IN GENERAL:  If you have a choice between using a "pulse type" and "MDB" acceptor, the "MDB" unit will usually offer slightly better security and maybe other added features.

INHIBIT KITS-

Many other combinations of existing machines can be matched to newer acceptors also.  Some of these need what we call our INHIBIT KIT.  The INHIBIT KIT is a small electrical control box which connects "in line" between the main machine harness and the bill acceptor.  It 'translates' the signals from the bill acceptor into a different form that the host machine can handle.  The price of the INHIBIT KIT is typically $235, Plus the bill acceptor and mounting material.

One example of this would be for a ROWE BC1 machine (originally accepted only 1 bill type).  A new acceptor of your choice: Pyramid, Coinco, Mars could be mounted in machine and by using our INHIBIT KIT could accept both $1 and $5 and vend.
